Square Loyalty - Rewards Rewards

I have been using Square Loyalty for a few months now and so far I'm finding the experience deeply lacking. It's functionality is very limited and altogether too hard to use on the customers side.

 

In an ideal world, customers would reach the checkout, enter their phone number and then choose their redeemable loyalty reward from the menu and be done with it! (I am told this is possible under very specific conditions wherein customer must be using an iOS device with their payment card linked to the phone number used to enroll in the loyalty program ~ this is very limited and most customers do not meet this criteria)

 

So the alternative method is for customers to add their rewards to the cart before they reach the checkout and then choose it as a reward and the item is discounted appropriately ~ seems simple enough when you put it like that

However, is it in practice very limited and not very customizable.

 

For example:

My customers can claim 'a free candle' for 140 points

They can choose from select candles (as my candles range from $12-$50 and I don't want to offer more expensive candles in this offer)

But I have no simple and clear way to communicate to customers which specific candles are available as a reward (since they can choose from size 2 of option A, size 1 of option B, size 3 of option C, etc)

 

It would be so so much simpler and easier for customers if they could see a menu similar to this menu that I see when I set which items are available as that reward!Screenshot 2024-02-07 193615.png

 

Further, if I were to create separate listings of individual variations and display them on a new page or category where customers can view all available rewards together, those special rewards listings would then be available for customers to simply purchase normally! I just want my rewards to be rewards!

 

I feel that the Loyalty Program needs some serious work to make it more functional for customer to use when checking out online.

Creating and editing rewards from my end is actually pretty well setup and functional but the customers experience is extremely lacking.

Thanks for reaching out and for sharing your feedback on Loyalty, particularly the customers facing side of the service. 

 

I agree that functionality is key, and that it would be useful for customers to have access to more details about the available rewards at checkout. 

 

I'm not aware of these features being in the pipeline for Square Loyalty at the moment, but I would be happy to pass your feedback on to our Loyalty Product team. Additionally, you can share your post on the Ideate page of the Community.
