Square Appointments - Restrict services to certain staff members

Hello,

 

We are trying to figure out if we can move to Square appointments.

 

We have multiple staff members and multiple locations. Each staff member can perform certain services and not others from our full list of offered services.

 

I can see the option to assign team members to a service for online bookings, but I would like to assign team members to services for manual calendar bookings as well, so that the bookings team doesn't get confused as to what team member can do what service. Is that possible?

Hey there, @Narcis! Thanks for your post and wishing you a warm welcome to Square's Seller Community!  

 

So when you toggle on Bookable By Customers Online in your Appointments Dashboard, the services assigned to your staff for online booking will also be assigned to your staff members for manual calendar bookings too. Once this setting is turned on, the settings will be applied across your Square Appointments settings, there is nothing else you need to do. 😊 

 

In the screenshot below, you can see that it will give you the option to select a staff member when manually creating an appointment. Here, two of my hypothetical staff members can be booked for this service, as this service has been assigned to both.

In this screenshot, only one of my hypothetical staff members can book as only they are assigned to this service. It will not even give me the option to book the other listed staff member as this service is only assigned to one staff member.

Please note: This feature is available with Square Appointments Plus or Premium plans.

Hi Skyler,

 

Interesting, that's not what I'm seeing on my end.

 

For example, I have a service that is called 89VIC - Ear Cleaning (Microsuction) - 89 Pounds

 

I enabled 'Bookable by Customers Online', and I assigned 2 team members out of the 4 that I have in my staff list.

 

But if I go to the calendar, and I add a new appointment, I can still select all four staff members from the drop down.

 

In a way I expected this, because the information blurb that appears when hovering over the Bookable by Customers Online toggle says "When enabled, this service will be bookable by customers online. This will not affect your ability to manually choose it when you create an appointment. This can only be enabled for services with a duration."

 

So I am not sure how you achieved the functionality that you mentioned, but that is exactly what I would like to be able to do.

 

Any ideas? I can also jump on a call to see on my end.

Thank you for your reply @Narcis1, that does seem odd. 

 

Would you be able to send over a screenshot of how it appears to you on your settings when trying to book an appointment on your calendar manually? It would also be helpful if you could send a screenshot of the services assigned to your staff that is not appearing correctly that would be great, I'd be able to better investigate then.
