I am selling my business to a new owner. We deactivated everything but when I click on transfer account, I still get a message that I have payroll account that needs to be closed. When I spoke with the payroll department, they show that payroll has been deactivated and said once our employee receives their last check, the system will allow the transfer. I am still having the same issue. Please help.
HI @Nhyira2020. I guessing that your employee did receive their check and your last payroll processing is completed. If that is the case, and you still can’t transfer your account, you’ll need to call Square Customer Support back. This time, though, don’t ask for Payroll. Just tell the rep that you are having issues with your transfer and see if they can either resolve it or escalate it to the engineers to look into.
Remember that this is Labor Day weekend and Support will be very short-staffed on Monday. So you might want to wait to call until Tuesday.
