Setting up webstore - Importing from Square Items

I'm having issues importing my items that are in the Square Virtual Terminal to my webstore which has been set up in Weebly.
I get the following errors:
Message 1: Item variation names cannot be empty.

Firstly, I don't want variations, hence why it is blank. Do I need to put something in there?
I'm not sure what the other one relates to.

It's a pain having to set up another excel file and upload it for the webstore, especially as I had set up all the images in the Virtual Terminal. I have over 100 products and will be adding many more so I wanted the 2 systems to talk to each other.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi @Girlvic,

 

Firstly, in your Square dashboard, can you go to 'Item Library' and check to make sure all of your items are appearing here?

 

If they are, can you go into your Square Online site, then go to 'Items' > 'Item Sync', and check your settings:

  • Toggle on 'Sync descriptions'
  • Toggle on 'Automatically add new items'

 

Then go back to your Site Items (Square Online > Items > Site Items) and in the top right of the screen click the button 'Add from Item Library'. In here you should be able to import items if they are already in your main Square Item Library.

 

If this doesn't work, you mentioned Weebly — I wonder if maybe you created your site before Square's takeover, and maybe Square Support can do something on the back end to flick your site over to the newer platform? This would likely fix these issues (I assume there are some clashes with old Weebly + Square integration stuff sitting behind the scenes that they are tidying up for older sites).

Thanks for your reply.

 

I can't find anything that says sync.
I have since found that the issue is that I had a Weebly account prior to Square buying weebly and because of that Square can't sync to Weebly 😞 
Apparenly they are working on it?  Rather disappointing though.
Perhaps I will try contacting them and asking.

Looks like unfortunately they can't be imported if they were created in Weebly.

 

You may be able to do an library export and then just tidy up the export to ensure the columns all match Square's item library requirements and then import fresh into your Square Library, there is a guide here: Import Items Online | Square Support Centre - AU (squareup.com)

Yes, I since read that because I was an existing Weebly user it can't be synced 😞
