Good morning all,
I have an item that requires a differant delivery profile from the rest of my products in that as it is created from scratch as per the order it can take 14-21 days to create where as everything else is already made so can be shipped accordinginly within 2-7 days. I need to assign a totally seperate profile to this prodcut but cant find a way to do it.
Can anyone point me in a direction please?
Thanks
Gill
@GillRogers you could set it up as a pre-order on the item. We do this with our Christmas Advent Calendars. We put a little detail on the description explaining about lead times and how delivery works for this item on purchase. Or under fulfilment and shipping in the online tab you can creat a custom shipping profile.C
Custom (specific items)
Charge a custom rate or create a destination restriction for certain items
@doc_choc Thanks for that, I looked into doing that but as Im on the Free subscription as Im starting out I dont have that option.
Thank you
Gill
@GillRogers I can't see a way around this with the system, but as I say the next best is to do as we do with our Advent Calendars and do a pre-order at the item level. We have never had an issue with this especially as we put a little detail in say the item will be dispatched x days after the order is placed. Give it a go, you can always iron out the creases once up and running! 🙂
@GillRogers Out of interest what kind of products do you make?
Just thinking on the pre-order idea you can always reinforce the delivery lead-time through a follow-up email. It's always good to be communicating with your customers as you progress through the fulfilment process.
Just on the paid for features with Square, you are right to be cautious when setting up a business as every penny counts and with the current challenging climate too, but I have have found from experience that sometimes the money can be well spent on tech if you find it makes your life easier and delivers your customer the best online experience whether that be in fulfilment or the additional options on the creative side when developing your website, when used well it helps you stand out in the crowd. But there is a limit as a small business owner that I will go to also, and I always question myself when I sign up for new services (including personal ones like Netflix, in fact a Square subscription would be better value than Netflix lol), but invariably this gets filtered as it either helps my business or doesn't and I adjust the subscriptions accordingly. I know the process you are going through as I'm sure all small business owners have done the same.
