A lot of our sales are gifts. I am getting a lot of questions about where to put the name of the recipient and the name of the buyer as there only appears to be one name field. Am I missing something? Most websites have a box to tick if billing details are different?
Hi @pixierose, thanks for raising this! We made some changes a while ago to the checkout form to reduce the number of fields customer need to enter. When customer go to checkout on Square, they aren't required to enter the full billing address; they'd only need to enter their card details and the postal code.
If the customer has ticked that the order is a gift, they only need to provide their email address and the payment information. Recipient's information can be entered under the Shipping Information box.
Thanks, but there doesn't seem to be any option to tick that it's a gift?
Thanks for your reply! The option to setup up gifting is available if you are on the Performance plan or higher.
I've double-checked on my end and even if the customer does not tick that's the order is a gift, the checkout page will still be the same as in the screenshot. So when they are placing an order for someone else, they can enter the recipient's address straight away.
