Selling at Multiple Events on the Same Day

How can I set my Square Terminals up so that they record only the sales transaction at one particular event on a given day or record transactions by employee? We all have separate readers, some are working the same event... others different events. But it's Summer and sometimes our event dates overlap. So from 10-2pm on a Saturday we may be working one market, then 11-3pm another, and a third market 5-10pm. What would be ideal is if I could see sales/transactions not just by event but by employee, so I could track who's processing more sales, which events we're getting the most ROI, and per hour figures so I can better plan (and not run out of product). No idea how to set this up but it'd be great if possible. Thanks in advance!

If you use Device Codes or Team Management you can track which Device or Which Team Member processed the sales.

 

point-of-sale/team-management 

 

Each Team member would have a unique 4 digit pin to sign in to use the device to get credit for the sale(s).  You can also assign what each employee has access to on the device.

Oh. I haven't used Team Management before, but I will take a look at the link you sent. That sounds like it may work. Can I, apart from that, assign actual events in case there are more than one on the same day? So, say employee A works the 10-3pm event 1 and then also works the 5-10pm event 2. Would I be able to see that A rang up X $s in sales at Event 1 and X $s at Event 2? Thanks again!

I never tried that with same device at 2 different events.  Since the Device code is by Device and same device and same with a persons Pin is by the Person..... If the same person uses the Same device at 2 locations you would have to keep track of the hours of the sales manually and which event was at what time I believe.  Now if you have a different employee use the one device you might see it visually where it switch.

 

Event 10am

Bob employee 1234 uses Terminal XYZ

Chris Employee 7890 uses terminal ABC

 

Event at 6pm

Bob 1234 uses Terminal ABC

Chris 7890 uses Terminal XYZ

 

That may make it show differently on your reports

 

If you download your Transaction CSV file you can see the Device Name and the Employee Name.

With the Transactions and Items Detail csv files you also can see the times of the Transacations.
