For a freelance marketer selling ad spaces to local business via social media and e-mail, I have already opened a Square account, some time ago, but have never used it. I believe I have set up my store in a way that have perhaps better suited a previous business idea that I have since retired. I need to change my account, such that I am not required to assign staff and booking times. I am not a hairdresser!
I would simply like to sell one offer of an ad space at one price point, with no variations. I would like to require all customers to first fill out and submit a form prior to payment, since there is information I need in order to provide a service for each customer.
I am trying to automate and streamline my processes as much as possible, to reduce the amount of separate communication touch points with each customer -- so I'm trying to collect it all before I collect payment, so at the time of payment I have everything I need.
(1) Can I start my store over again, in a different format for a business like mine that does not require any booking times and staff assignments? ChatGPT has advised that I "redesign," or "restyle" from my account settings, but I see no such option and my such queries on Square have not returned anything helpful with respect to this matter.
(2) I would really like to, with a form, collect all the information I need and then after payment, send out a mass e-mail to keep all customers informed of the next steps in the process at the same time. Automation will make my life so much easier and more profitable.
I have actually already created a form with one of Square's third-party apps called WuFoo (by MailChimp), but integrating payment allows me only 5 trial payments before I must then subscribe to a paid monthly plan. Is there another, better way?
I need help!
Hello @chicagolandbiz 👋
Sounds like you need to edit your Square Online site. You can learn all about how to edit your site in this article.
Keep in mind, if your business has changed, you'll want to reach out to our team to change your merchant category code.
As for collecting information, you could use the Forms feature in Square Online. Keep in mind, forms are separate from item sales, so selling an item wouldn't automatically trigger the form.
If you need to send emails to your customers, Square Marketing is a great tool and it has a few automations that would be helpful for you.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thank you.
