Self serve order tickets

Afternoon all. Before I start to set up self serve can anyone tell me how my staff would be notified of a new order. We currently use 3 Square terminals. Would a self service order automatically print from one of the terminals or would I need to buy a receipt printer and connect it to an android device? I've received orders from my online store before and the only way I was notified that I had received an order was by email. It didn't show a new online order on any of our 3 square terminals. Many thanks

Re: Self serve order tickets

The Terminal doesn’t currently support online orders, so it would be a case of just having the emails or investing in ipad/android & a printer.

Hi @Thj, thank you for reaching out! You can do this by creating two printer stations and then select the category(s) you'd like to print at each. One station can be for foods and one can be for drinks. This way, you'll be able to generate two order tickets with the right information on them.

It's also worth to double-check that the items have been assigned to the same categories on both Square Online site and within your Square Point of Sale app to ensure that the tickets will be printed out correctly.

I hope this will help!

Hi there. When a customer uses self serve and the order is sent to the printer, it prints off with everything itemised, for example, 2 x 175ml Sauvignon Blanc, 2 x Tuna Toasties. As the order contains food & drink, a ticket needs to be sent to the bar and another ticket needs to go to the kitchen. I only have 1 printer so I go to transactions in the app and select re-print ticket for that transaction however, the re-print doesn't itemise the order nor does it print the table number. I know there is a way round this by clicking on the orders tab and selecting a re-print that way but, it would be a lot easier if there was a way of enabling the printer to print 2 tickets when the order is originally placed by the customer. Any suggestions? TIA
