Saved Cart Issues...

We have used square for 3 years now, and although I have never asked for support on this issue, after this much time it seems maybe they aren't aware of it. I figured one day it would get addressed, especially with all the changes on Square Stand Retail App. So, the issue is the erratic behavior of carts. The carts have always malfunctioned, this isn't anything new. The issues we see are:

1) Cart isn't deleted after sale is complete.

2) Cart only deletes items added at the time of the carts creation, anything added on later stays in the cart even after sale is completed.

3) Cart takes a long time to show up on the other square stands, which necessitates going in and out of the cart menu over and over to make it show up, and in some cases to make it stop being displayed after the sale is completed. 

 

Looking forward to finally having this issue addressed...

I have not noticed some of the things you mentioned.

1) If you save a Cart for example a person comes up goes to pay after everything is added to a cart, I press Save cart enter name of forgot wallet for example.  Then when person comes back in I go to Saved carts find cart of Forgot Wallet press it then Open Saved cart.  Then add any other items they add and complete the sale.   The persons Saved cart is then removed.

 

2) This should delete anything in a saved cart that was Opened as mentioned above.

 

3) A lot of things take time to get updated from one stand to another, Like Items when added on Stand A, do not show up instantly on Stand B.  I have noticed to speed this up, I press on the stand that is not up to date yet More (bottom Right) Then Items and let the stand open Items then exit it and then the New items appear.  I think these steps force the scan to update the catalog.  Other wise the stand would continually be looking at the catalog and the Square engineers probably have the app check the Items catalog every 5 to 10 min I am guessing.

The only variable I can think of between us and you is that sometimes we have carts in use for an hour or more, sometimes with additional items being added 3 times or more.

The other reason we use saved carts is for phone orders.  Person calls and asks for 3 items say our 28oz candle.  With that I need to figure out shipping then call them back.  Depending how busy we are this can be anywhere from 5 min to a few hours.   Then when we tell the customer the shipping they may add more items to get free shipping.  Now like you pointed out we usually open the cart maybe 1 additional time or up to 2 additional times if they need to find their cc and call us back.  

 

Maybe it does behave badly the more you open it and I just do not notice it ??? idk.
