SWB2-012 Power adapter for Square terminal goes dead. Have to unplug and wait 10 minutes

Brand new square terminal with the SWB2-01 switching power adapter.  I am using this terminal at a show.  First 4 days worked good.  5th day, the power adapter went dead in the middle of the day.  I unplugged it from the outlet, and had to wait 10 minutes, then it worked.  Is this common?  Will this continue to happen?  or is it a bad adapter?  Did it over heat, and have an internal reset?  I just ordered another for $99 as a spare in case this happens again.  very disappointed since the terminal cost $800, and I used it for 4 days.

@Ghilliesuitscom I definitely do not think this is normal and sounds like a wiring short that is causing an overheat or thermal overload protection to kick in.  Now, that said, the terminal is just a USB-C adapter and is only 29.00.  I think you are referring to the Square Register and the replacement kit for it.

Square is really good about hardware and the warranty.  I would try the new power adapter and if it works with no problems, pack up the old one and do a warranty claim here:
