I have recently discovered an issue when uploading photos via the Square POS app. My photos are being input sideways, and saved sideways if pushed through. I am told from Square support that it's an issue with all smartphones regarding an orientation tag that may be missing. Your photos may look the proper orientation, but your phone may have "saved" it differently. Currently the only fix is to play around with rotation before fully uploading within your phone's options. Square itself does not give the option for rotation upon upload, but you can zoom and drag. I'm asking for the addition of the rotate feature, so we as business owners don't have to spend any extra time worrying about how our phone saves/uploads things or having to alter countless photos.
For the record: I am using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. My photos were taken with no extra settings or special modes. Just straight up and down after I opened the camera. I have also found that it has this rotation issue with pictures that WERE NOT taken by this phone.

I think your suggestion to add a rotate feature within the app is spot on. It would save a lot of time and hassle for all of us who must ensure our images are displayed correctly. I would submit this request to our Ideate Board.

I have already input this as a suggested idea through the proper link, thank you! Just wanted to create a post about it where many others could see or find it if they're experiencing a similar issue. I did also find that if I used the "desktop site" option through my mobile browser it would allow them to upload properly. This makes me think it's a bug in the POS app itself. I do have it fully updated currently also.
What a bizarre answer. What the correction, as I did copy in to square pictures that were not lopsided from a computer and they are all lopsided in square. If there isn't a fix (clearly there is bug); I have to delete and reload 20 pictures that still might load in lopsided. So basically- I can't add any new pictures to my redesigned web site. That's a problem that requires a real solution. Please provide one. Thank you.
