I recently received notice that a customer of mine "removed" the CC that had been on file. There wasn't any reason, so I presumed that the card had expired and they were replacing it with an updated card. WHAT is the purpose of this notification ? It seems to be a waste of email and notification time. CC have to be replaced all the time.....whats the big deal ? If this customer (who happens to be a regular) places an order and now has a new updated card....GREAT !! Any opinions ??
@CannedFresh Doesn't bother me in the least. You can update what e-mail notifications you get in the online dashboard. If I was doing subscriptions, I think removing a CC is a big deal as a way to know the person maybe chose not to pay anymore and maybe you should reach out etc. Usually the complaints about notifications are that someone didn't get one, so extra notifications I can just set up an e-mail rule or remove them etc.
I presume that notification will alert you that they removed the card they would be paying with. If this person has a subscription they won't be able to be auto-charged, so with the notification you can now be proactive and say without a card on file your subscription will not be renewed.
