Replacing Entire Inventory

I am only 3 weeks into my new business - and I'm thinking of updating my pricing - if I delete a large amount of my inventory, and re-upload with new prices, will this affect the items already sold that are now showing as zero in my inventory?

It would probably be better for you to export your item list and then open it up in a spreadsheet and update all of the pricing for each item and then import it back in. That way it'll just update the existing products.

Oh I do think that sounds smarter. 
when I import back in, I would select replace entire inventory?
