Remove a manually recorded partial payment

I accidentally recorded a second check payment on a partially paid invoice. Is there any way to remove this so the remaining balance goes back to what it should be? Thank you!

@jewelsdesignwor There is not an easy way to do this.  Once a payment is recorded, it is kind of forever.  Even if you did a refund, it would be difficult to fix.  The easiest way is to refund the invoice, issue a new invoice and then reapply the check payment.  This would be the cleanest way to fix it.

That's what I was afraid of. This is very frustrating that it just can't be edited, especially when a credit card is not involved. Thank you for your help!
