Product with Appointment integration

I’m currently using Square UP and working on setting up a seamless booking and product checkout process for my customers.

Here’s the expected flow I’m aiming for:

  1. Select Piercing Type (as a product)

  2. Select Jewellery (twice)

  3. Choose "Continue Shopping" → No

  4. Proceed to Checkout

  5. Select Appointment Time

  6. Confirm

  7. Make Payment

  8. Receive Email Confirmation

My goal is to ensure that customers can add jewellery items to their cart, proceed to checkout, select an appointment time during the checkout process, and then complete the payment.

However, in my current setup, after selecting the products and moving to checkout, the option to choose an appointment slot does not appear.

Could you please confirm:

  • Is it possible to combine product purchases (e.g., jewellery) and appointment bookings in the same checkout within Square?

  • If yes, what settings or configuration changes are needed in my Square account to enable this flow?

Hi @anandhan, I see you are new to the Square Community. Welcome!

 

I reached out to our Appointments team and they said that the ability to both add a physical item and an appointment to a cart and checkout online isn't supported in that flow. They did provide a couple workarounds though.

 

One option is to let a customer purchase and pay for their jewelry, and then have them reach out to you to book their piercing. Another option is for you to manage it all via the booking flow, where you can select piercing and provide variations on the piercing service to account for different 'tiers' of jewelry. E.g. Ear piercing --> with standard earrings ($80), with premium earrings ($120). The latter could also include a field at checkout where customers to list the specific item/piece they may want.
