Processing multiple sales at once

Hi all, I want to know if 2 people can use the same account to process sales at the same time. e.g 1 using Square reader, 1 entering manually, or 2 using 2 Square readers?

Hi @ Caren,

Thanks for getting in touch! Welcome to our community 😊 👋

Yes, multiple users can be signed in to the same account and process sales at the same time. Just keep in mind that the Square Reader can only be connected to one device at a time. Using two readers, or manually entering card numbers on one device would work, too.

I hope this helps!

Tap More > Settings > Hardware > Square Reader in the Point of Sale app to unpair the reader from the device so it's ready to connect to the next, @Rotary-Preston

As part of providing information to Square I have to supply information about our President and Secretary. The notice I received asks me to upload files but is not accepting the selected files. Can you advise?

in regards to uploading your files we recommend using a supported browser, such as Google Chrome on a computer @Rotary-Preston. Also, check that the document(s) you’re attempting to upload are in a readable file format.

Your uploaded documents must be:

  • PDF, JPEG, JPG, TIFF or PNG file format
  • Under 25mb in file size (each).

And yes, you're in the right place to pair/unpair a reader. You'd just select "forget this reader" on one device and then head to the same menu on the phone you want to pair it to. It only takes a few seconds to connect or disconnect.

As members of the Rotary club are not all technologically savvy and rather than have different cashiers trying to unpair and re-pair it might be simpler to get a mobile phone for the club which can be paired at the start of the day and unpaired at the end of the day. It then only needs the first cashier of the day to be proficient rather than four cashiers throughout the day.

If you're able to have a dedicated club device, this would certainly make life a lot easier for you and your team, @Rotary-Preston!

A single device also reduces the risk of pairing issues throughout the day, which may cause additional stress for your cashiers, especially if certain mobile data networks are stronger/weaker than others.

Have a look at our compatible devices list online if you're planning on purchasing a new club device, to ensure it will work with the Square Reader.

I get to the Square Reader in the App but the only options I have are Identify This Reader or Forget This Reader.
