Process Wisely Card

Hi there.

 

We are a food vendor and use Square POS to process payments. Currently we sell weekly at an Amazon warehouse and on the days we sell, we are the only food services provider on the property.

Amazon pays their employees via Wisely - a Visa card - but Square automatically declines these transactions. This is frustrating because a large percentage of their employees don't have another means of payment, and those that do spend unnecessary time transferring funds (typically to CashApp). 

I'm curios to know if there is a troubleshooting step or an explanation for why Square doesn't accept these cards as a payment. From my understanding, any Visa/Mastercard should be authorized, however, this is not the case. 

It is often disheartening to deny someone break food when their only form of payment, issued by their employer, at their workplace, is not accepted by our payment processor.

That can be totally devastating and it does seem like because it's a visa card provider it would be accepted.  I suggest contacting Square Support to relay to them what is happening in this process; specifying the exact card they are trying to use to make sure that it hasn't been flagged for any type of high fraud.  Please once you get the information come back here and share what you have found out...I'm sure if it's happening to you it can definitely happen to someone else and sharing here would help.
