Pickup Date work around using "digital" items

I sell bakery products and use modifiers for customers to select the day they want to pickup seasonal items (like cinnamon rolls for 12/22, 12/23, & 12/24).  The checkout process is confusing to online customers because there is additional pickup options (i.e. your order will be ready to pick up in 15 minutes) provided by square in the checkout process.

So my question is that if I switch the item type to digital do the unnecessary pickup options disappear in the checkout process?

Thanks,

Lisa

HI, you can check a couple of places to see what may be the issue.

Is Pickup properly setup?

Online Dashboard, Settings, Pickup & Delivery, upper right Advanced Settings, Default Fulfillment Method

Does each item correctly state its fulfillment method?

Checkout Fulfillment Method properly setup?

Online Dashboard, Settings, Checkout, upper right Advanced Settings, scroll down to Default Fulfillment Method

Hope This Helps!

We're a bakery as well. Just tried this out because we had a lot of confusion with order dates on pre-order items from our holiday menu. Default order prep time is 5 minutes for our daily menu items. Pre-order items were meant for the customers to change the fulfillment date at the end of checkout BUT it's hard to find and people don't tend to read.

If you put it in as a digital item, it's indicated that it's a digital item when added to the cart, which I think will be confusing.

Try setting it as a service with adding a modifier programmed with fulfillment date(s).
