New user here, I've tried searching for this but haven't found an answer.
I am an artist, and I would like to create QR codes that buyers can use to pay for individual paintings at a business that has offered me wall space. I will not be present during the purchase, and I don't want the business owner to have to deal with Square (except to confirm payment completed before handing over the painting).
- I created separate Items for the individual paintings, with Point of Sale selected as the channel.
- I created a Location for the business, and all those items are available at that location.
- I created an enabled Sales Tax entry for the location.
- When I edit an Item, it correctly shows the Sales Tax.
- I set all the Sales Tax Overrides to "Collecting using default sales tax rates."
However, when I create a payment link for a given item, it never adds the Sales Tax to the transaction.
What else do I need to do?
