POS Drawer History

Starting yesterday, (Aug 2), we can no longer print additional Drawer Reports from Drawer History under POS Reports.  It is gone.  We use this at the store level to match deposits and verify the Actual Cash for the morning shifts.  Is anyone else having this issue?

I haven't seen any other reports regarding this situation. I will recommend you get in touch with our Support team whenever you get a chance. Well I just came in after dealing with The update to 6.22.2 on Square stand for Square for Retail yesterday with other issues.

Found out from calling Square Support I was to Open Square POS to adjust this, but I only had the Square for Retail App on my Square Stand, and my Android I use the Beta App on..... so none of my devices have the POS app to adjust these setting.  Kind of dumb it is only on one app and not even on the Paid version IMO.

 

Now for todays Update problem, Usually I come in as the Owner, Sign in on a Square For Retail app to Track my hours, then open the Cash Drawer and sign in as the Store so that the Store name is printed on Receipts under the Time.  So here is my sign in today as the owner - worked fine.... then went to enter the pin for the Store Name, and all I am allowed to do is Clock IN.  I never clocked in before with the Store Name.  Then I tested a Receipt print out ..... Personal Names have been removed from under the Time on the receipts.  Would have been nice to know this in a Notification on Whats NEW.

So now I am clocked in ...Lets start the Cash Drawer..... NO USB Cash Drawer Available..... NO kidding mine is through the Network Receipt Printer.  Let's open the Cash Drawer to see if it works.... Top Right Corner there are three dots.... Press that and Bottom Choice was to Open Cash Drawer..... This is GONE.  How do I open this now???  Start going through settings.... No cash drawers found.... but somewhere I came across Test Cash Drawer... Pressed the Button and it opened.  Put in my Starting amount in the drawer physically.... but when I went to Press the Yellow message that has been there saying No Cash Drawer Started do you want to start one or something similar was Gone.   So how do I put into Square how much this cash Drawers Drawer started with for today???  Again my Cash Drawer is not even showing in Square since it is a Printer Driven Cash Drawer off of my Network Printer.  Yesterday this worked fine until I updated the IOS and Square for Retail was forced to close and Restart with the IOS update, I already had the Cash Drawer started and the Store Signed in but not Clocked in before the Restart.  Then Going through devices settings and every thing else I saw a cash drawer was opened since 5-24-2023, I closed it and then the Receipt Printer printed out the history of the cash drawer from when it opened and sent me an email or text..... never had this happen before either.

 

This is the Problem your engineers at Square do an Update to fix a complaint and then MOVE settings us business owners use or employees use daily and then we struggle trying to find where these newly phrased settings get moved to.  Why not keep the OLD word there and make it a link to what it is now called!! 

Back to Cash Drawer problems... When Closing a Cash Drawer.... Square shows on the Screen $XXXX.XX should be in the Drawer .... Actual in Drawer _________________   ....... How can we put this in the Space for Actual In drawer if we can not open the Drawer?   Got to give the key to the drawer to every person now?  Before we would press the Open Drawer that Showed as a No Sale, Count the Cash in the Drawer then go to close the Drawer.. and enter the Actual in the Drawer....   Then after entering the Actual amount type in Description then Close Drawer..... Then the Drawer Opens???? Why to be Counted for the steps previously??  Another programming error by your engineers.  When you go to Close the Drawer BEFORE entering the Amount Actually in the Drawer there should be a button to OPEN the Drawer to be Counted.  So as you are saying you have not heard of any other problems, 43 other people may have looked here, maybe that are looking for an answer to this problem also, or maybe a few others that might be trying to answer this problem.  But yet again Square did there Update with out testing it with a Few business owners when they just changed everything we are use to doing.   WE NEVER GOT THE MEMO where or how to do things after Square Moved them or Changed the wording for things we need DAILY!!
