Off line sales on the Square Register

My question is about off line payments that are taken on the square register. I understand that after the payments are made the app must not be logged out. What if the register is powered down (say at close of business) without logging out, will the pending payments still be there when it is turned back on?

Hi @David26 - Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Square Seller Community👋 I'm happy to answer your questions about using Offline Mode on your Square Register.

Offline payments will appear as pending from your in-app payment history while your device is offline. When you reconnect your device to the Internet, payments will show as completed and will be visible from your online Square Dashboard and Transaction history on your Square Register. Customers’ digital receipts and your payment notification emails will also be sent when the app is back online. Remember – you’ll have 24 hours to upload your offline payments.

If you haven't gotten back online to upload your payments yet, it is okay to turn off the Register and turn it back on. You just don't want to perform a factory reset, described here, because you will lose any payments you've taken in Offline Mode if you haven't already uploaded them.
