I just noticed that there's no longer an indicator when the card reader is charging.
I tried several cords to be sure. My employees tend to grab iPads without checking if they're plugged in and break cords, but without the indicator, I won't know if it's charging or not.
Hello @crystalimages.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It's crucial to have a clear indicator for the card reader charging status, especially in a busy environment.
Can you please provide more details on the Square Reader for Contactless and Chip Troubleshooting steps you have taken.
Have you tried to reset your Square reader?
We will be on the lookout for your reply.
I'm referring to the POS system. The card reader info at the top of the screen used to indicate when the reader was charging, I don't see that it does now.
We have the card readers attached to the bottom of the iPad since we walk around with them, the card reader isn't stationary on a counter. The way I have it arranged, I can't see a light on the reader itself to indicate it's charging. I've always relied on the indicator on the POS screen.
I can still see the battery charge level, which is good, but it would be nice to know that the charging cord is connected properly from the POS screen and I won't come back the next day to a dead reader because the cord is bad or I didn't insert it all the way.
Thank you for this clarification @crystalimages
This is a very interesting report. Have you tried uninstalling the app and installing it again on one of your devices to see if the problem persists?
So I'm seeing it now. On my older iPads, it still gives a visual indicator at the top of the screen. On the newer ones, I have to tap the reader bar at the top and it then shows me the status and battery level. I'm not sure If I just didn't see it before, or if it was somehow fixed. Thanks for your help. BTW, I didn't have to reinstall.
