No Active Location

Hello everyone,

 

Im trying to set up square but get this error message.  How do I fix this?

 

No Active Locations

Virtual Terminal requires an active reporting location to process payments.

Hey @CGM2,

 

This error message can appear for a number of reasons:
 

  • If you're a brand new account and are still in the process of having the account verified to take payments
  • If you've deactivated your account
  • If you've deactivated your master location (the one that gets automatically created when you create an account)

If it's a new account, we would have asked you to upload certain business information that may take a few days to review once provided. Generally our team will send an email or we'll let you know via text within the sign up process, then email once it's been reviewed. You'd need to wait until that information has been uploaded, reviewed and cleared by our team.

For the latter two possibilities, account or master location deactivations are reversible, however for account security reasons it has to be done by our support team. If this is your situation, or you're just not sure, you can call support on 1800 760 137 (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time), or contact us via online chat or email:

 

1. Sign in to your Square account

2. Head to our contact page https://squareup.com/help/au/en/contact

3. Click on any topic, then "I don't see my issue"

4. Click "Message us" or "Email us"

 

Or, if you see the new chatbot help flow, type "contact" to bring up a list of contact methods.
