New square site not accepting payments

Hi all, I would welcome any and all advice please. My new site that I have spent hours loading products on is published but says "this site is not accepting payments".

 

I have looked online, checked other posts and have checked the following:

  • Order Online is enabled on my website. 
  • Items are in stock and have fulfilment methods applied to them
  • Shipping details have been entered for all countries I ship to.
  • Product weights have been entered for every product, as shipping costs are weight based
  • My bank account is verifies and I have taken in person payments
  • I have unpublished and republished my site to make sure the site is fully secured

I contacted support on the 5th, it was escalated to tech support on the 7th but over a week later I have heard nothing. When I chased it they generously offered no payment charges fir the first £1000 in the next 180 days... but as I can't take payments that doesn't help. I was hoping for some pre- Christmas sales and this has totally scuppered my launch.

 

If you have managed to resolve this issue yourself I would really appreciate your feedback! I've lost faith in tech support and am looking at alternative sites

I'm sorry to hear you're running into this @TC2021! It looks like you've ran through all the troubleshooting steps we recommended. In the past, the following steps had helped other sellers resolve this:

  • Make sure your location is set to physical on your Square Dashboard > Account & Settings > Locations,
  • On the same page, make a small change to your location information (like adding a space in the business bio), click Save then wait for about 5 minutes before republishing your site to see if it will help resolve the issue.

I am looking for this, but in my search under square.online/home/account/payment it has no payment methods saved under payment methods, but I cannot see where to amend this. Is this related? I got here from the dashboard when clicking dome on my store name and choosing account settings on square l online

The payment method you mentioned is only necessary is you are using a paid plan for Square Online site @TC2021! And you don't need a paid plan to use Square Online site to take payments.

 

To check the settings above, you'll need to do this from your Square Dashboard rather than your Square Online site. If you follow this link here, you should be able to check whether the location is set to Physical and make the changes.

The link you sent is where I checked the physical site, I did this, unpublished and published my site but it made no difference.  My site (tessemacreations.square.site) is still not accepting payments. I'm getting  a little dispondant of I am honest.
