New Barcodes Won't Scan

I am suddenly having issues with barcodes not scanning, after putting a new roll of labels in my printer.  Only difference I see is the new labels are brighter white and maybe a bit glossier than my last roll.  I use Symbol LS2208 Barcode scanners and neither of my two scanners will read the new labels.

Anyone run into this before?  Any work arounds?

You might try scanning them at an angle? I notice if I try to scan a barcode on a screen, it'll only work if I do it at an angle... Straight on catches a glare or something?

I have tried every angle...in the dark...nothing works.
