Anyone else having issues with their network printers (Star-kitchen/bar ) disconnecting each time the Square app is closed? I have to reconnect my printers each time by searching and adding by the device IP address. I don't believe this was an issue until recently.
I HAD this problem and found out 2 different Devices were trying to assign the same IP address. I installed Security Cameras that from their Factory were set with a Static IP address which just happened to be the same IP address of a Printer that came from the Factory with the same IP addressed as a static Address. So I had to check to see which IP address I could Change, changed it to a new address and then setup the Square system to find the printers New Address, which I assigned through my Router as a Static address for that printer. Took me months to figure out what was happening since I had the Router setup as the DHCP host and to assign IP addresses to everything on my network, and did not realize some devices come with Static Addresses.
I had an issue many years ago, almost 10. I called star and they helped me put the printer on it's dedicated line (or whatever it's called, port maybe) on my router. no issues since.
