I have had my cash drawer connected for 3 years without any problems. Overnight something has changed and it is now delayed opening after i press cash sale. It was instantaneous. When I go into settings and test cash drawer it is still instantaneous. Just when I do a real sale and press cash option it takes more than 5 seconds to open. Something has changed i think in an update possibly?? It has been 2 weeks now and I cant find anything to fix it. Square please provide an update to go back to where we were.
We are using Square Register and have noticed a change when hitting the cash amount and the register opening and telling you how much change screen. Not great when staff are not confident with cash handling.

I've checked in with our team about this, and it seems this is a known issue which we plan to resolve in an upcoming app update. I'll keep an eye out for any news and will report back on this thread if there's any more information to share. In the meantime, it's worth staying on top of any software updates and installing them as they come through.
