My staff and I have used Square POS for some time. The other day it updated. Now, we have to stop and figure out where things moved. This is annoying. If this added some sort of functionality I may be ok with it but I see no improvement. It looks like things were rearranged to make it look fresh. We do not care about fresh. We care about ease of use. We do not need to stop and wonder where functions are that we use every day. So can someone tell me what functionality was added?

Hello, @TheOpenEye I am sorry to hear that the new Square for Retail app has given you trouble.

At this time the redesigned Square for Retail application not only includes a facelift but also includes backend improvements for easier feature and stability updates. As you might've noticed Square has started to roll out similar interfaces for all of its applications to make sure our Product team is able to continue improving and adding new features that required a refresh in programming and performance.

That translates as 'keep it fresh'. Please. Just leave things alone and when there is an update make it worthwhile. Just moving the check out button from the right to left is annoying for no benefit at all. Think of it as me going into the coder's home and switching his sock drawer with his underwear drawer. He'll reach for the wrong drawer for quite a while before getting used to it. Then when he is, I will go back in and switch them back. 🙂
