Good morning all, I am a brewery owner.
I want to be able to set up a modifier where if someone is to purchase a mix 4 or mix 6 pack of beer, and the customer selects 2 of the same beers I want to be able to select twice.
Currently the way I have it set up is it will allow me to select 1 specific item.
Example,
if we have 9 total beers for sale, and someone wants
2 IPAs
1 Pilsner
1 Watermelon Ale
How do I allow the system to select IPA twice.
You could setup Variations instead of Modifiers. When someone buys a 4 or 6 pack are they getting a Price Break?
Does each Beer have a Barcode you could Scan?
Usually if someone buys 1 beer the price is higher that if they buy more that is why I am asking, since you did not mention that.
I would just put all your Beers in as Single Items and have them in Categories by Type, IPA, Pilsner, and Watermelon Ale.
Scan each Beer in the Pack they bring up as if you were selling Single items. Each Beer can have a GTIN and / or SKU to scan.
So then all you need to do is scan the IPA 2 times.
More about variations : 6689-item-options
Here is more about Modifiers : 5119-create-and-manage-item-modifiers
Here are reasons I suggest Variations over Modifiers :
For me I use Varaitions in my Store. Candle Scent is the Item, then the Variation or Option is the Type of Candle or Size.
I could use Item 16oz candle with Modifier of Scent, but then my inventory just would show I sold X amount of 16oz candles.
With using Varaitions of the Scent I can see I sold 20 - 16oz French Vanilla..... 15 - 16oz Lilac.... etc.
Hi there @brianmcevoy92. This is a new feature that is currently in beta test. Here is the link to that test, which seems to still be accepting testers. Just head there and request to be let in. Otherwise, if you aren't comfortable with beta tests and the possible risks of using a non-released function, you'll just have to be patient until this feature has been thoroughly vetted and is released to the general public. Good luck.

I am going to look into doing it this way. Appreciate the feedback.
