as anyone ever talked to a live person on the phone? I was provided a # called numerous time and am told this call will now end

Square hours for support:
6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST Monday – Friday.
While live support does exist and is super helpful when it's an emergency, most issues or questions can be answered via the forums or their chat support.
Is your issue account specific or do you have just general questions?
I prefer to think of phone support as a 9/11 emergency situation where resolution has to happen immediately as I understand a lot of times issues aren't that time sensitive.

Absolutely, and something like funds being held are something Square support can help you with.
Keep in mind their hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST Monday – Friday and unfortunately sometimes it will take multiple calls to resolve an issue. Generally speaking if your funds are being held that means there are either issues with the transactions or your account is under review.
I understand how frustrating it can be but anytime funds are being held they're being held for a reason, every processing company has different methods and I had times where paypal would hold my funds for 30 days which was a super long holding time so believe me I know it sucks.
