Hi, I’ve just purchased 2x Square Terminal but unless I connect a smart phone, ipad or barcode scanner, I cannot scan qr codes for quick customer directory. Is it likely, and how soon might it be that square re-design their terminal to feature a camera for the use of qr codes? Is it worth sending them back and waiting for the next gen terminal to be released with the possibility of a camera?

Our hardware team is always working on new products and features based on seller feedback like yours. However, I can confirm that there aren't any upcoming updates to the Square Terminal that would include a camera for scanning QR codes in the immediate future.
With that in mind, I wouldn't suggest returning your devices, but ultimately, the decision should be what works best for your business.
