@FlourandThyme Welcome to the Community. Unfortunately, no. The tap location is determined by where the NFC antenna is physically located inside your Android phone, so Square can't move it to the front through a setting.
The easiest way I've found is to keep the phone facing you and have the customer tap their card or phone against the back of your phone. Square actually recommends doing it this way so you can watch the screen and see when the payment is approved.
Depending on your particular Android model, the “sweet spot” may be toward the center or upper portion of the back, so once you find the spot that reads consistently, that's where I'd have customers tap.
