I can't add items to my cart, it keeps showing cart is empty

I have been testing the site but never been able to add orders to the shopping cart. When I click add item the cart pops up message as "your cart is empty".

Please help

Thank you, I just found this thread yesterday and I also have solved that problem by not masking the url.
