Hi @dollmettler, welcome to the Square Community and welcome to Square!
I am going to go ahead and tag in a few of our Square Champions in similar art fields who may be able to chime in with some insight on this.
@bonny, @Maegan, and @MudFire_Dex, do you all have any helpful tips on getting starting with a Square website?
Greetings!
This is a link to where you'll want to begin.

Being a fellow creative, I'll mention it took me a bit to realize I had to put my images into a square format for the pages to view the products correctly. I still forget until I check what my Square site looks like and have to go back and adjust my images.
Keep in mind, you can change your template to something else if you decide later that one type works better than another. I'm always reworking mine based on the season or target audience I want to focus on. I've had a presence on Square for over ten years, and they've made a lot of interesting enhancements during that time. I currently have my Instagram page linked to my Square front page and that's been a huge time saver.
Right now I'm redoing my products listed on Square for the holidays so it's currently in a state of reset but I'll give you the link to get your creative juices flowing. I like the fact Square tracks my in-person sales so I get to see how many new and repeat customers I get. It also totals up my sales per event, per month, per year and compares to prior years. But I'm getting ahead of you here. Start with the basics using the link above. If you have more questions or get stuck, give me a shout.

My best tip is making sure you fill out the SEO text - we don't sell items but our class search rankings, class registrations, membership sold out using Square and we'd had a Shopify site for years. We streamlined the text - used a template that was more simple - at first it felt too simple by comparison but obviously users liked it better than what we were using. I like the ease of everything being in the Dashboard whether the sales happen in person and with the POS or with the site. We don't sell too much online -mostly seasonally or specialty items.
Congratulations on your new journey. I wish you much success. Others have given you such great advice, so I'll just chime in with your website doesn't have to be perfect to publish. I waited over a year to publish my site because to me it wasn't perfect. I was told by my community to hit the publish button and make it perfect as you go.
