How to set up items for tracking more than one ingredient?

Hi! I'm trying to create items for my bar menu and finding the inventory to be a little useless. I want to create an item for say something called "drink1" that includes spirit1, juice1, and syrup1. How do I set this up to track inventory for spirit1 juice1 and syrup1 by only selling something called drink1?

Thanks!!

Hi there, @barpalmina! I see this is your first post, so here is a warm welcome to our seller community! 😀👋

At the moment ingredient level tracking is unfortunately not available, however we do plan on building this into Square for Restaurants in the future.

Although this feature isn’t currently available with Square, it’s a great idea and I can see how it would be beneficial to your business.

I’ve shared your feature request with our Product Team, as they are constantly improving our products based on feedback like this. To learn more about how feature requests work, please see this post from one of our Seller Community Moderators.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for any updates in our Seller Community. We appreciate your input! 🙂

I started using restoke instead - it works beautifully.

Nice, looks like a Square Add-on, I will check it out. Thank you! Could you share your Square store (if it's okay) so I can see the customer experience of it too? Am curious how it looks on the online store for the customer.

I’m a bar so I don’t use the online store if that’s what you mean! My customers just see their tabs when they close out.

@barpalmina ;

You could try Bundles....  Here is more on what Bundles are  Link--> 8057-create-managing-bundles-with-square-for-retail

Bundles were made for businesses in retail to sell 1 soap, 1 Conditioner, 1 Lotion..... etc as a Single item.

So like an Item called 'small Bath Basket' - would have 1 Peppermint Bar Soap, 1 Eucalyuptus Hair Conditioner and 1 Mango Lotion.

Then when I scan the Small Bath Baskets SKU, Square reduces inventory on each of the 3 items in the small bath basket.

The issues I see with your item is you would need your ingedients all in inventory by oz or mg to do this.

The other issue is I am not sure if you can use Square Sell By units in this equation.  Here is more on Square sell by units or conversions.  link --->  New-Retail-Feature-Sell-by-units-and-stock-conversion/td-p/350911

The basic of this is if you buy Spirits and then sell them by the case of 4, by the Bootle, By the Glass or by the Shot.

I just do not know if you could add say a shot of the Spirit to your list of 'Ingredients' for example. So there is 1 oz per shot, 59oz per 1 Liter bottle, and 236oz per case.  If oz is your smallest size.

If you could you would need all your items that go into an Item as an ingredient broken down to the smallest amount of the ingredient I believe.
