If you are prompted to be charged $10.00 for your first reader, this can happen when someone has multiple Square accounts linked by the same SSN, which causes our system to not recognize you as a "new" Seller. 

However, we can certainly help you with completing the order for your free Square Magstripe reader. If you haven't already, please reach out to Support directly by logging into your Square account and heading here.

I have not received my reader, when I go to this screen it only gives me the option to add a reader for $10

I never received my free square reader now they want me to buy a new one I never even got the free one why would I buy one

Currently, only new Sellers qualify for Free Magstripe readers. In other words, Free Readers are only available once per User (Seller)  instead of once per account.
