How do I process an Interac debit payment where the user had the tap function disabled?

My new Square Reader Contactless reader is not recognizing a debit card (who's 'tap' function has been disabled) when inserted into the reader.

Square only accepts Interac Debit thru tap, so if this is function is turned off then your customer will not be able to use that card for payment.

So how can I turn on the tap for square reader

tap function is part of the contactless Chip reader.  You do not have to turn it on.
