How do I manage carton inventory?

Hi,  we use Square for our Social Club (much like a bar).  We sell individual beer cans but also sell it by the carton.  Can I set it up so that when we sell a carton, it deducts the number of cans in a carton (24 or 30) from the stock on hand?

While there is no way to tie deducting one item type from your inventory (eg a can) when selling another item (eg a carton made of individual cans), the work around for this would be to sell the carton as individual cans then apply a custom discount to the transaction that indicates a carton was sold.

For example, at point of sale this would look like:

Gold Can x 30   $90

Gold Can Carton (30) Discount    -$25

Total    $65

This way you'd be able to track individual cans while continuing to sell cartons.
