The iPhone 6 has a headphone jack so there isn't anything to exchange for as the magnetic stripe reader will work with that model.  iPhone 7 and up do not have headphone jacks and you can either use the included headphone adapter or buy for $10 the lightning magnetic stripe reader. https://squareup.com/shop/hardware/us/en/products/magstripe-reader
