When customers select to have a receipt sent via email or text, there is a Shop Online button that is directly below the business address. However, when pressing Shop Online button In the receipt, the old Square online store is coming up and not the Weebly Square Online Store. I have the new Weebly Online Store published and would like to ensure that my customers go only to the new store.
Hey @workoutguyva thanks for bringing this up. Does your URL go to your new online store currently? Also, when you click on "Online Store" on the Square Dashboard, does it automatically direct you to your Weebly online store or does it ask if you want to work on your old one?
Hi Ashley, no the URL behind the Shop Online button goes to the old store - Squareup.com and when clicking on Online Store from the dashboard, it asks which one I want to work on. The old one or new one.
Sorry for the confusion. I'm asking, outside of the link, does the raw URL (not attached to the "shop online" button), also go to the old online store? @workoutguyva
And, ok, knowing that your Dashboard is still tied to both your Weebly online store and your old one, I would start setting up your new online store with Weebly. Doing this will merge your old online store to the Weebly one.
The raw URL that I typed into the Receipt section works fine. To. E clear, the Shop Online button is auto generated for the digital receipt. I didn’t realize it was creating a button until last week.
to answer your other question, I did go ahead back in May and created a Weebly Online store and thought the old Square Online store would be disabled and redirect to the Weebly store but apparently it hasn’t happened yet.
Jumping in for @AshleyK here 👋
When you head to the Online Store section of your Square Dashboard, if you're seeing something like the screenshot below - beneath that section you will also see a link(s) to your original online store.
Once you're here, click on the original link to head over to the editor for the old online store. Click on Settings in the top right-hand corner, and you should see your Site Status options in the top right-hand corner. If the Visible Online and Accepting Orders options are currently toggled on, go ahead and toggle these options off.
Toggling this off will not have any negative impact on your new Square Online Store, and additionally will help the old one eventually fall out of Google search results. Let us know if your customers are still being sent to the old store when clicking the Shop Online button on receipts, @workoutguyva!
I need help with this as well. I cannot find how to turn the online site off. I have followed what was posted here, but I don't see the same thing. I wish we could just modify it in the receipt settings to go to the correct url.
When I click online and view settings, I don't see anywhere to turn it off.
Hey @BofBArtStudio!
Hope you're doing well.
I'm sorry to hear you have been unable to turn off those settings.
Can you confirm the URL to the new site and the old site so we can take a look?
And just to be sure, this is one someone receives a digital receipt after buying something in person or at your new site?
Thank you for answering those questions so we can better assist!
We have multiple locations in square. Each location has its own website.
Currently, all digital receipts for all locations go to the same url which is:
https://burst-of-butterflies---chandler.square.site
but Burst Of Butterflies should go to BurstOfButterflies.com
and Next Door Novelties should go to NextDoorNovelties.com
And so on.
I looked and cannot seem to figure out how to fix this and have no idea how long it has been this way.
I have been trying to delete the online store in Square as I was just playing with it a year ago to test it as a potential option for us. But I cannot even figure out how to disable the square online site.
Nonetheless, we had no idea that our digital receipts were bringing people to this "test" site and not our actual websites.
