How can I use square just to ONLY take payments?

I was really excited about creating a Square site. However, my experience has been terrible and that's me being polite. I have multiple site, I have used Shopify, SquareSpace, Wordpress, Wix and a few others. This has been my most frustrating experience. And I wasn't even trying to do anything complex.

It could be just me. I accept that. I could be having a stupid week.

Anyway, I am now ready to abandon the square online or website feature. However, I would like to keep the card payment feature. Can anyone help me here, as Square support is sometimes impossible to contact. I will do a screen recording to show you guys how frustrating.

This is what I want to do? I want to use a service like Appointedd for appointment booking and payment. Since I have already created an account with Square and connected Appointedd, I might as well use Square to take payments via Appointedd.

Since I am now going to use another platform for the website, I am going to just embed the Appointedd service booking into that. So, I am wondering, once I have all this setup, I shouldn't need to login to square right? Since square is just processing the payment for a cut. There services between the calendar booking platforms and square don't sync anyway, so there is also no reason to create products/items in square.

However, I still want to take payment in person. So, I need the Square card reader. And using Appointedd I want to take a 50% deposit online, and then the rest when I meet them in person. So, how would that work?

All the square apps have a simple keypad option - type the amount in & take the money - job done 👍

You can add a note to the custom amount if you wanted to be able to link it to a sale recorded elsewhere later too.
