How can I record tips when a client pays cash?

When a client pays cash, I record total amount and it says “change” however, that “change” is my tip from the client themselves. How can I record that. ?

Hey @Nailzbybea.  Currently, cash tips can ONLY be recorded when a team member is clocking out for the day.  They need to accumulate the cash tips — or keep a running total of tips they put in the drawer — and then record those just after they clock out.

In order to enable this, you need to go to your online dashboard > Staff & Payroll > Team > Settings > Tips.  There is a “Declare cash tips” toggle at the bottom.

You don’t say whether or not you use Square Payroll.  But, if you do, these cash tips will be attributed to the team member who declared them, and added to their paystubs as “tips already paid,” assuming that you let your team members keep cash tips each day.
