@POTB I have had a reader or 2 die in my day. What I would recommend is to hold down the button for a minute...(super annoying, but my ocd says to do it just to make sure). Also try any usb adapter (old style) and make sure it is not the cable or charger you are using that is bad.
If you try that and it doesn't come back to life here is a link if you are under warranty to get a new one or buy a replacement. If you got it at Best Buy or Sam'shttps://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5148-square-hardware-limited-warranty-and-returns , you can return it there for exchange depending on their policies and time limits.
