My employee at a retail location sold merchandise and accepted a Mastercard as payment. When reviewing the transaction history, the transaction shows as a check payment, which we don't accept as payment. Square says this cannot happen but the employee swears it did.
Hi @Makena. In nearly 12 years with Square, I’ve never heard of this happening. What you are told is correct. If a card was dipped and the employee hit the correct button on the POS, it would show up as a card transaction. The only way it could show up as a check transaction is if the employee hit the Check payment option on the POS. I won’t pass judgement about your employee, but something is definitely not right here. And if this was even a remote possibility, it would have made a definite splash here if it had
