We can't get a corrected 1099K.... It sent 1099k to our employee's ssn and the IRS thinks he received the income. We updated our info, but it always says name and EIN do not match. They do! I even confirmed with the IRS. Square is absolutely AWFUL in responding. We cannot get in tough with a human. Have submitted changes a dozen times and emailed with who knows who or what on the other end 50 times... anyone have any actual way to get this corrected?
@hunterjunction If I read it correctly, somehow your employee SSN was used to set up the business instead of the actual EIN number? This falls under account set up and ownership info I believe. In theory, you should never get to this point unless the employee verified the account with his or her info.
I am no tax expert so always consult with your tax attorney or cpa. But here is the IRS instructions on how to deal with this. There is a procedure to fix a 1099-k that can't be corrected.
