Gift card pricing is ridiculous

Not only are the cards grossly overpriced by the merchant ecardsystems but they overcharge for shipping. Additionally, Square charging a fee to load cards is seriously highway robbery and reason enough to switch to a different merchant. Do better Square or lose another customer.

Yes, I too got a little sticker shock when ordering cards, $140 for 75 with shipping. However, they were custom and look great, more professional than the pieces of paper I was using before! I wonder if these prices are standard for production of gift cards? Maybe it's cheaper for the mega-stores because they order in huge quantities.

We ordered 250 two years ago and I do remember the sticker shock. However, I've been very pleased with them and the fact that they are reusable and refillable has made it worth it. We have a healthy amount out in circulation, with plenty in reserve, and I don't think we will have to reorder any time soon.

When Square started charging load fees, I was really annoyed though. Thankfully, the new Square Premium subscription drops those fees to zero. I don't know if that subscription makes sense for your business, but it did for mine.

It's absurd. I just tried to order 75 and they want to tag me $40 for shipping from Tennessee to Pennsylvania for a little box that won't even weigh a pound.  Keep up the gouging, Square.  I expect nothing less these days.
