Full Dollar discounts won't apply

I have created a series of dollar off discounts that are from our manufacturers.  Unfortunately, they show up in the discount tab, but they don't load on the actual register.  They are set for this store location.  There seems to be no issues with the percentage based discounts.  Please help.

Hi @PawsitivelyPure.  See the screen shot below, from the Square “Apply Discounts” help article.  Dollar-based discounts are only applied at the order level, not the item level.  The only discounts available at the item level are percentage discounts.

Thanks Chip.  It's unfortunate to not be able to apply individual discounts manually.  I will try to do automatic discounts.

Are you trying to apply just to items or the purchase as a whole? Therealchipa answer should help you if you're trying to apply to each item.

Thank you for the feedback,  I have been having some trouble in general with discounts applied to the whole order.  For example, I want to offer a 10% discount to an employee's whole order and right now, I am having to apply it to each item, instead of the whole order.

On the Main Checkout Screen there is a Green Discounts Button.  If you have a 10% Employee Discount there it will apply that Discount to the Entire order.  If you select an Item to apply the Discount First it applies to the Item.

This is A picture of my Square Stand Ipad Screen using Square for Retail.  The Green button Top Left that Says Discounts is the area you want to press to apply the Discount to the entire order.  If I press Smoke Eater 28oz then select Discounts it only applies the Discount to that Item.  This only works for % discounts. Dollar Discounts must be automatic for an item or the $ discount gets distributed over all items in you cart.

@PawsitivelyPure ;

To have a $ discount apply to an Item or Category Automatically you can do that with the $ off of an Item.  But if you try to choose a $ Discount off the $ amount is applied to the entire order.  I would look at your $ Discounts and Add the Items or Categories to your $ off discounts and have them apply automatically.  That should solve your Problem.

If you do not want them applied automatically, Then you may not be able to do what you want.
