Facebook Autogenerated Posts: "has added an item to their shop"

We have (or had, until recently) our shop connected to Facebook. Recently Facebook has started automatically generating posts every time we adjust a product (add a new photo, new description, update stock), sell a product, add a product or move a product to a new category. The posts look like the attached screenshot. These posts cannot be turned off or deleted. Facebook doesn't tell you they are posting them. And with these posts, they are basically repeatedly spamming anyone who follows my shop. I disconnected my Facebook account in the Website> Facebook section, but this did not solve the problem. I deleted the data source and all of the items from my Facebook catalog, but as soon as we sold something, Facebook generated new posts for those things we sold. This is particularly annoying because the products were sold out. Is there any way to remove the Facebook pixel? Or does anyone have another suggestion? I hate to lose the function of being able to tag my products on instagram, but we add and adjust products on a regular basis and can't have Facebook announcing our every move in undeletable posts. Thanks for your help!

Solution

Found this on a Shopify response and it worked! "The way you would solve this is to go to your Business Page Settings > Page Updates > click on Edit > and turn off post notifications so that they don't automatically update every change. This should resolve your feed issue."

For me though personally I don't think I can fix it because I need to upload the item to my Facebook catalogue in order to tag it on Instagram.

If I don't select the 'Facebook' channel when I upload the product, it won't appear on Instagram shopping. It was better when they had separate channels for Instagram and Facebook.

I have exactly the same problem as @ShopGirlNY152 but I can’t find “Page Updates” anywhere on facebook or facebook business. The only notifications I can turn off are the ones that I recieve as manager of the business account.

Is there any other way to get rid of these autogenerated posts from facebook? I can’t seem to find any solutions on google…

Hi, here's the best option to remove it...in case that you encounter this again. When you upload your items on the Catalog just click save. Please see screenshots

I've had a look at all settings and still can't seem to disable news feed updates from my woocommerce store to Facebook!

Did you ever find out how to disable this feature on FB?  I am currently adding new products using already existing draft products and FB does not post anything about them being a "new" item.  Seems to be the only way that my followers don't get spammed.
