Enter Staff at checkout

I run a barbershop. We do not have time to enter full appointment details for walk ins . We use 'Create Personal Event' to quickly enter a name and time. I need to add the staff member to checkout for commission purposes. Can I modify the checkout page to enter the staff member??

I took a further look into this for you and it doesn't appear there's currently a way to tie a staff member to a transaction on the Square Appointments app - you'd need to be creating an actual appointment there rather than setting the appointment as a personal event.

 

There is a way to do this via the Square Point of Sale app by setting up passcodes as part of the Team Management options. So it's possible you could use a shared Point of Sale running our regular app to track sales by having the staff member ring it up under their name using a passcode system. You could set this up on the same device as Appointments, you'd need to switch apps to the Point of Sale app, as well as set up the passcode system and teach your staff to use it.

 

If you wanted to stick to using the Appointments app though, you'd need to book in an actual appointment assigned to the staff member. What sort of hinderances are you seeing when trying to add a regular appointment, or how much longer on average are you spending entering Appointments? I'd be happy to pass your feedback on this through to the team!

Thanks Seamus. Its a matter of time we are too busy to stop and enter all the details necessary. Rewards need to be simplified too. They need to pop up and single touch on checkout.
